Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the area, bringing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Locals observed substantial frozen pellets as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts verified that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units deployed to manage the widespread outages.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, around 1,000 residents in Victoria also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

At the height on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both regions.
Health Warning
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the region.
